We stumbled across Bar Caffetteria La Colonna on our first day in Lucca — and it was so good, we’ve been back every single day since! It’s officially become our local go-to spot. The atmosphere is relaxed and genuinely welcoming, with lovely staff who make you feel right at home. Big compliments to the chef too — the food is consistently fantastic. This is a truly authentic place with both indoor and outdoor seating, perfect for enjoying a sunny afternoon or a cosy evening meal. The drinks menu is brilliant — the Hugo Spritz is absolutely spot on — and there’s a wide range of dishes to suit any mood. One of the real highlights for us was the burger with fig jam, rocket salad and pecorino cheese — such a unique and delicious combo. It’s easily in our top 5 places to visit in Lucca. Whether you’re after a relaxed coffee, a tasty lunch or a special dinner, La Colonna is a total gem.

Found this lovely cafe on my first day for light breakfast and had last day lunch here. Staff lovely. Fabulous food. Nice Hugo Spritz. Homemade food. Lovely staff were worked off their feet with all tables (12) outside packed. Needed another staff to take orders.
